Import from Jira
Updated
Jira exports are imported as a bulk file — a project list, or a filtered issue navigator (jql) result — not a live connection.
Bulk scope and format
| Bulk scope | Project List, or a filtered Issue Navigator (JQL) result |
|---|---|
| Format | CSV |
Plan and export limits
- A whole project can be exported from the List view.
- Issue Navigator asynchronous CSV supports up to 10,000 work items per export. Split larger sets with non-overlapping JQL batches.
- This is not a native whole-board JSON export.
Source documentation: Export issues from Jira Cloud in CSV · Export over 10,000 work items
Steps
- Open the work — Project → List, or Issue Navigator with JQL. Filter to the project, epic or release you want to share.
- Export — Export → CSV. Export all fields. AlignLane ignores what it does not map.
- Upload — AlignLane → Board → Import. Choose the file. Jira CSV is detected automatically.
- Map and choose shared fields — Mapping preview. Confirm the mapping. Estimates and comments stay excluded unless you include them.
- Publish — Share. Review the import report, then copy the share link.

What stays internal
- Original and remaining estimates

- Sprint, story points and epic mechanics
- Any custom field you do not map
See the Jira integration page for how this compares with guest access in Jira.
