Import overview
Updated
AlignLane imports bulk exports — a whole project, board, list or filtered view — not one task at a time. It is not live sync: re-run an import when the source changes.
How it works
- Open a board → Import and choose a file (CSV, JSON or .xlsx).
- AlignLane detects known export shapes (Jira CSV, Trello JSON, Asana CSV/JSON, ClickUp CSV/Excel, monday Excel).
- Review the mapping preview: title, status, owner, due date, description, source ID, source URL, labels.
- Choose which mapped fields are shared. Unknown and sensitive columns (estimates, comments) are excluded by default and are not stored.
- Import. New tasks are created as internal or shared depending on your choice.
Re-importing
Rows are matched by source ID (e.g. Jira issue key) within the same board and source. Matching rows are updated only if their content changed; rows without a source ID are matched by a content hash of title and source. Rows missing from a newer export are left untouched — AlignLane never deletes shared history because a row disappeared.
Import report
Every run reports created, updated, unchanged, skipped and failed rows, plus every source column that was ignored.
