Share Asana project progress in a separate delivery view
Export a whole project as CSV or JSON. The other team sees status, owners, dates and blockers — not your sections, subtasks and internal comments.

What you export
BULK SCOPEEntire project. Search View and My Tasks can also be exported.

Asana plan and export limits
- Project export is available on currently documented Personal, Starter, Advanced and Enterprise-family plans.
- Subtasks and comments are excluded from the shared lane by default.

What crosses into AlignLane
Default mapping for a Asana export. Every field can be excluded before import; unknown or sensitive columns are excluded by default.
| Asana field | AlignLane field | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Title | Shared |
| Section/Column | Status | Shared |
| Assignee | Visible owner | Shared |
| Due Date | Due date | Shared |
| Task ID | Source ID + link | Shared |
| Tags | Labels | Optional |
| Notes | Description | Optional |
| Parent task / subtasks | — | Excluded |
What stays internal
- Subtasks and parent-task structure
- Comments and followers
- Custom fields you do not map
- Assignee email addresses
Excluded columns are not stored. Re-imports match rows by Asana ID and update only what changed — see the import docs.
AlignLane vs guest access in Asana
GUEST ACCESS IN ASANAAsana paid plans advertise unlimited free guests.Guests see what is explicitly shared with them; sharing a whole project can still expose project and task structure the client does not need.Source ↗ (checked 2026-10-16)
A SHARED LANEUnlimited read-only viewers, only the tasks and fields you publish, and an Overview built around who owns the next move — without the client learning Asana.
Questions
Does the other team need Asana?
No. Read-only viewers open the AlignLane link. Sign-in is only required for identity or partner actions.
Is this live sync?
No. This is a bulk file import you can re-run. Live source sync is labelled separately when released.
Will re-importing create duplicates?
AlignLane matches source IDs where available and shows an import report. Duplicate-handling behaviour is covered in the import docs.
Why not just invite the client into Asana?
Sometimes that is enough. Asana paid plans advertise unlimited free guests. Guests see what is explicitly shared with them; sharing a whole project can still expose project and task structure the client does not need.
